Winchester Releases NWTF - Long Beard XR Limited Edition Ammunition
EAST ALTON, IL (January 23, 2024) — To pay tribute to one of the most prolific conservation organizations of all time, Winchester is proud to announce its NWTF “Committed to Conservation” Long Beard XR ammunition in 2024.
Winchester Long Beard XR has cemented itself as one of the most innovative and effective turkey hunting shotshells ever built. This iconic ammunition pairs well with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), a leader in conservation and the preservation of our hunting heritage.
The commemorative ammunition is available in 12 gauge, 3-inch, No. 5 shot and features the NWTF logo and Mossy Oak® Original Bottomland® camouflage on the packaging, making this a collectible for any turkey hunter.
Long Beard XR turkey ammunition utilizes the patented SHOT-LOK® resin, which fully encapsulates and buffers the shot within the shell to prevent pellet deformation upon firing. The copper-plated lead shot is kept nearly perfectly round to dramatically improve patterns down range with more hits on target and increased energy at extended distances. Long Beard XR was first introduced in 2014 and quickly became one of the most innovative and superior turkey loads, setting records at the NWTF Still Target Competition, as well as being recognized as ‘ammunition of the year’ by several industry organizations.
