Hometown Hunt: Part One
Winchester Life / Season 1 Episode 18
4:48
Nikki Boxler is home in Varysburg, New York, to take aim at a whitetail buck. Before she heads to the blind with Winchester, she spends time reconnecting with loved ones at the family cabin.
Nikki Boxler hunted whitetail on her family-owned property. She stayed at her family cabin, which her uncle built in 1992. Along with the family dairy farm, the Boxlers have a maple syrup operation that is owned and operated by Nikki’s father and brother. It takes roughly 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup. Nikki’s great grandfather, Joseph Boxler, and his brother Jacob came to the United States by ship in February of 1921 to Ellis Island as legal documented immigrants from Switzerland. The duo decided to settle in Varysburg because the rolling hills reminded them of home.
