Exhibition Shooter in a Long Dress – “Plinky” Toepperwein by Ashley Hlebensky
Adolph Toepperwein had a 50 year gig as a Winchester exhibition shooter beginning in 1901. Mr. Toepperwein fell in love with a Elizabeth Servaty who quickly became part of Toepperwein's shooting shows.
During Elizabeth’s training, she shot at tin cans with a 22 and after several tries, made her first hit. She declared, “I plinked it”. After and forever, she was known as Plinky Toepperwein. Ah yes…a little more fascinating Winchester history. Come along on this video as we celebrate our 150th Anniversary.
